Our Mission
Brave at Heart exists to equip military wives with biblical community that results in discipleship, unity, and spiritual growth.
Core values
Discipleship
We believe that we are called to go and make disciples of Jesus. We not only are students of God’s Word, but we then become teachers and mentors to others (Matthew 28:19-20).
Unity
We desire for women to come together and be unified through their common experiences and their love for God (John 17:20-23).
Spiritual Growth
We pray that women will be transformed by God through encountering His Word and biblical community, resulting in spiritual growth (Romans 12:2).
Community
We believe that God created humanity for community as relational beings. Our goal is to fill a need for biblical community within the military community (Hebrews 10:25).
WHAT WE BELIEVE
-
We believe that the entire Bible, all 66 books are inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings. Through the providence of God, the Word of God was written by human authors through the work of the Holy Spirit and has been protected and preserved. It is true in all it affirms and is authoritative and instructive for our lives, work, and ministries.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:11, 89, 105
-
We believe there is only One true, eternally existent God. He exists in three co-equal persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The triune God is the Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer, and Ruler of all things, and He is worthy of worship and obedience.
Deuteronomy. 6:4-5; Genesis 1:31; Luke 3:21-22; Matthew 28:18-20; Rev. 4:11
God the Father: We believe that God the Father is both the Father of Israel and all believers. He is creator, sovereign ruler, holy judge, compassionate reconciler, and the One to whom all things will return.
Psalm 91:1-2, 2 Corinthians 5:17-20
Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son. He was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and performed miracles. He then shed His blood on the cross to pay the debt for our sins, was buried, bodily resurrected, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return literally, visibly, and personally in glory and power.
John 1:1-3,14; Matthew 1:18-25; Philippians 2:5-9; Colossians 1:15; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Acts 1:11
The Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is God the Holy Spirit, co-equal and co-existent with the Father and the Son. He convicts of sin and aids in regeneration and sanctification. The Holy Spirit lives within every believer and empowers every believer to live a godly life.
John 14:16-19; 16:7-15; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 8:9,11; Titus 3:5

We believe that God created all mankind, both man and woman, in His image to be in perfect relationship with Him. Man was created with free choice and were created to be caretakers of that which God created.
Genesis 1:26-27
-
While Adam and Eve were created without sin, mankind chose to rebel against God’s plan, allowing sin to enter the world and breaking our relationship with Him. Because of this, God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to live a life without sin and willingly die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. After three days, God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as the free gift of eternal life to all who turn away from sin and choose to follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. We believe that salvation can be received by grace, through faith, and in Christ alone.
John 3:16; John 5:24; Titus 3:3-7
-
We believe the church is the living body of Christ and family of God. It is made up of saved and baptized believers, who regularly join together to worship, fellowship, and serve. We do not serve as a replacement to the church but rather encourage women to be connected to gospel-preaching churches.
Matthew 16:18; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Hebrews 10:25
-
We believe that one day, Jesus will return to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in His kingdom on earth.
Acts 24:15; Hebrews 9:27; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 20:15, 21:8
-
We believe that God created mankind male and female. Therefore, we believe that God designed marriage to be between a biological man and biological female as a covenant relationship. We believe marriage reflects the relationship between Jesus Christ and the Church.
Genesis 1:26,2:21-24, Proverbs 18:22, Ephesians 5:21-33

By day, Emily is a military wife, dog mama, and classroom assistant to 85 first graders. But by night, Emily is your go-to-girl for finding community in the military!
Emily has been connected to the military since 2019, but she became a military spouse in 2023. Her husband Will is training to be a JAG Officer for the Marine Corps. They are both from Southwest Georgia, but they currently live in Virginia.
Brave at Heart was created to remind women that they never have to feel alone but rather can be brave at heart. Whether you are looking for Christian women to connect with or a Bible study to get plugged into, Emily would LOVE to help you find the community you are looking for!
